Emily Paskell (who you haven't met) and I agree, so it's 2 votes for #3. The sled on the roof cinched it for both of us.

The gumdrop paradise is clearly the winner! All the way, baby.

My quick critique according all I'm learning as an art student:

SLCG-A-W is intriguing. It takes a step from the norm adding a double door. What does he store in there that requires double doors? And why is he not using them? What has he gotten away with? Ritz Crackers suggest undercover opulence!

GDP charms us with its quaint shape, quaint use of gum drops to delineate the form, and quaint shingles, quaint window treatments. Quite quaint!

My vote is on Santa's Chateau for its suspense and disturbing qualities. At first glance we see an untypical scene. But upon closer inspection we are alarmed! Are those puppies pulling the sleigh? And just what are those dark objects on the roof! And look how they've landed poor Santa! How will he get out of the sleigh to scoop up the dark objects? Any minute now one puppy will pounce on him or start chewing on the ropes...Santa will slowly watch his own sure demise shouting, "No! No! Bad Dog! Sit! Stay! Hey! STOP!!" And when he falls how will he get inside? He built his window too small. And he doesn't know from doors! There is no entry. Santa stranded by his best friends partying on his roof. Tragic and disturbing. So, naturally, it wins the prize.

The Chateau gets my vote - for the dog sled, the tree in the window, and the little terds on the roof!

Okay...these were all amazing! I love the front of the 1st two houses, but I must say, the Chateau has got a leg up on some of the creative details that make it the winner for us. Love the tree in the window and the footprints and sleigh on the roof. Miss you both so much! When are you coming to visit???

They are all too cute, how is there so much talent in one family?
The Gumdrop is so sweet and the dog sled is great, but being an older voter our pick would have to be the get-a-way. Troy and Sue

Santa's Chateau gets our vote. The girls think the highlights of the roof are the best! This is great. I enjoyed reading the whole blog. We will be in Asheville this weekend and are swinging by the Grove Park to go to the Gingerbread exhibit. We will see how these compare. Maybe ya'll should consider entering?!?

I see why there's such a problem with deciding which one is best... they are all beautiful. Being the color freak I am, I have to go with the gumdrop paradise! Bright and cheery!

I love the details on Santa's Chateau, but I love the bright colors on Gumdrop Paradise even more. My vote is for Gumdrop Paradise!
